A panoramic train ride through the lakes and alps of Switzerland, a cog railway ride up to a car free Swiss village, a gondola ride up to the snow capped mountains, and finally a swim in a heated spa pool. Wow! What a day we had!

Our train ride started out with mountains in the distance beyond Lake Lucerne.

And then, into the green green countryside

I love the undulating green pastures with the mountains in the background

The lakes are beginning to have the turquoise glacier water

Lots of Swiss villages dot the landscape

Gorgeous lake and Mountain View's along our train's route

Coming into Interlaken the water was so turquoise it almost looked fake, but that is really the color it was....

Coming into the Lauterbrunnen valley, which is characterized by sheer rock cliffs and numerous waterfalls.

The town of Lauterbrunnen

From Lauterbrunnen we headed up a cog railway leaving the valley floor below headed to Wengen

At the very top of the picture you can see a gondola car like the one we rode up in

Lots of local cheeses in the market

After dinner we headed down to the wellness area of our hotel and enjoyed the warm pool. It had bubbly jets and a whirlpool area. It even had a view of the snow capped mountains.

Periodically the water around that horseshoe shaped area turns into a whirlpool that whisks you around the outside in a circle.
