We covered many of the museums and exhibits in Luzern, ate traditional Swiss food and we sure got our steps in today. 18,864 steps today all over the city!
We started off with our traditional Swiss breakfast at our hotel.
We stopped of at the Jesuit Kirche. It is very predominant along the Reuss river.
The pews are quite plain in contrast to the ceiling and walls
Then we set of to the Rosengart Collection, a modern art museum predominantly featuring Picasso.
The Rosengarts were friends of Picasso's and Picasso painted several portraits of Angela, Rosengart's daughter.
Next we headed accross the river for some hot chocolate at Bachmanns, Yum!
Then up the hill to the lion monument. The monument is a memorial to the hundreds of Swiss soldiers serving King Louis the 16th who were killed by an angry hoard that stormed the Tuileries.
We checked out the Katholische church.
With an amazing wooden door.
The church had a great children's area.
We stopped in at the Stadt Keller for a traditional Swiss lunch.
Then back over the chapel bridge and to the hotel to change shoes and pick up a power bank to charge my phone.... it was running low with all the picture taking and direction finding.... thank goodness for google maps.
We visited the Richard Wagner Museum. This Manor house is where Wagner lived for 6 years. He called it his 5 year idyll.

For dinner we sampled traditional Gruyère cheese fondue at the DuPont Fondue House.
After dinner we walked through the old town and up to the old town wall where we climbed the towers and walked along the top of the wall. There were great views across the lake from up there.
The clock tower had interesting clock mechanisms.
The end of a busy day in Luzern. Tomorrow it's on to Wengen Switzerland and hopefully we will get up into the mountains.
